Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with today's installment of the Wedding Blog! On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Michael and Gina. It was their wedding day! The ceremony and reception was held at the Delray Sands Resort. This is a wonderful little secret, located ON THE SAND of Delray Beach!. As the guests entered the room for the ceremony, I was asked to play some Classical music to set a tone of a traditional wedding. The bridal party gathered outside. I then played "How Sweet it Is" by James Taylor. Then Gina walked down to " You Are So Beautiful" by Westlife. The ceremony was performed by the bride's dad. It was very heartfelt. As the ceremony ended, I played " Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money.
The cocktail hour was held inside the main room and the patio that leads to the ocean. The views are stunning! I played some cool background sounds to set a nice beach vibe.
Once the cocktail hour ended, I invited the guests to find their seats. I proceeded to line up the bridal party outside. I then played "I'm Here For The Party" by Gretchen Wilson. Michael and Gina entered to "Close" by Nick Jonas. The room erupted with applause!
I then asked Gina and Michael to dance their first dance. They chose "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. It was very special. Then I asked Jim, the groom's dad to come up and start the mother/son dance. He played "What a Wonderful world" with his ukulele. It was a great rendition of this timeless song and a special gift for the bride and groom.
Shortly after that I invited both dads as well as Brittany, the maid of honor and Jamie, the best man to say a few words. They toasted to the bride and groom!
Now the lunch service started. I kept it light. Playing the requested songs on the list.
Soon after, I invited the guests up to dance and we never looked back! I played all styles of music. This was a very diverse group and my music selection made sure that everyone was able to dance. The cake cutting was done towards the end of the afternoon. I played "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" by the Ohio Express. Then I had Gina throw the bouquet. Lots of laughs and a good time! Shortly after that, we picked up the pace again and I danced the rest of the day.
All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon. I feel that everyone had a great time....I know that I did! DJ Gregg
