Wedding and Reception at the Doubletree by Hilton / Sunny Isles

Jaime and Davey Martin celebrated their dream destination wedding at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel in Sunny Isles, FL on 4/20/2014. It was a beautiful setting on the 3rd floor patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean for the outdoor ceremony. The weather couldn't be better on this Easter Sunday and as the guests arrived at the Double Tree they were directed to the ceremony area where the happy couple were to tie the knot. Jaime looked beautiful as her dad escorted her down the isle and Davey waited anxiously for his bride. The ceremony was perfect and after Jaime and Davey sealed their love with a kiss, everyone was invited to the 1st floor for the cocktail hour. I played a mix of tropical tunes as the guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers. Jamie and Davey took the time to head to the beach for pictures with the photographer. After the cocktail hour all of the guests were invited back up to the 3rd floor (Ocean Pointe Room) for the grand entrance and reception. I lined up the 18 member bridal party for the intros as the approximately 50 guests found their seats. Davey chose All Of Me by John Legend and Tiesto as the grand entrance song for the bridal party and for him and Jaime also. The first dance was to Is This Love by Bob Marley then Jaime danced with her dad to Your Song by Elton John and Davey danced with his mom to What A Wonderful World by L. Armstrong. The toasts were given by Jaime's mom and dad Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fromson, Davey's mom and dad Dr. and Mrs. Davis Martin, the maid of honor Jordan and the best man Andrew. Soon after all of the guests were invited to a 4 station brunch with all the bells and whistles. I was not provided with a song list but was asked by Davey and Mr. Fromson to play to the crowd and to have fun doing it. They were a great/energetic crowd that danced to top 40, classic, rock, hip-hop, r&b, oldies and disco. Mr. Fromson did make a special request to dance with his wife to Lady by Kenny Rogers and asked me to invite all of the couples to the dance floor. As the afternoon progressed we paused the dancing to cut the beautiful wedding cake and to have the garter/bouquet toss then back to dance floor it was. The closing song was another special request by dad. He asked me to play I Had The Time Of My Life from the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack and that put a bow on an excellent Sunday afternoon wedding. Congrats to Jaime, Davey and the entire Martin and Fromson families. It was nice to see the staff at the Double Tree. It's been a while.
