Wedding and Reception at the Doubletree Ocean Point Hotel

Anita and Ronnie Hicks celebrated their destination wedding at the Double Tree Ocean Point Hotel in Sunny Isles, Miami, FL on 11/9/2014.  The weather was not co-operating that Sunday afternoon so the ceremony was held in-doors but still overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  Approximately 45 guests arrived to the Double Tree and were directed to the Main floor for the ceremony.  The ceremony was short and sweet then all of the guests were invited to the lobby bar for the cocktail hour.  The weather did clear up enough for the happy couple to pose for pictures on the beach as all of the guests looked on from the balcony.  I took the time to decorate the ballroom with 24 amber colored, LED, wireless up-lights and dance floor lights all provided by Eddie B & Company.  After the cocktail hour all of the guests were invited back up to the Main floor for the grand entrance and reception.  Anita chose Turn Down For What by Lil Jon for the bridal party intros and All Of Me (Tiesto remix) by John Legend for her and Ronnie's intros.  The first dance was to Finally Forever by Chris Cornell then Anita danced with her dad to Because You Loved me by Celine Dion.  There were no toasts but Anita and Ronnie gave a brief welcoming speech and thanked everyone for attending their big day.  All of the guests settled in for the first of a three course meal while I played a few R&B love song classics.  It did not take long for the dance floor to fill up after the main course.  I played a mix of top 40, R&B, hip-hop, reggaeton and 90's house.  The guests really enjoyed the mix of music and the highlight of the evening was dancing to the group dances.  These folks had all of the moves!!!  The cake cutting and bouquet toss proceeded the first dance set then it was back to the boogie.  One of the special requests was Wannabe by the Spice Girls for Anita and her girls.  The closing songs for the evening were XO by Beyonce and Don't Stop Believing by Journey...2 great closing songs to end a great wedding!!  Congrats to Anita, Ronnie and the entire Roach and Hicks families.  Special thanks to the staff at the Double Tree for their excellent work as usual and for always recommending Eddie B & Company!!
