Marc and Rhonda Potvin celebrated their wedding on Cinco De Mayo (5/5/2012) at the Double Tree Ocean Point Resort in N.Miami Beach, FL on a beautiful Saturday evening. The weather outside was great but just a bit windy so Rhonda decided to have the ceremony inside so everyone could be comfortable. The cocktail hour was one floor below, outside on the patio. Everyone enjoyed appetizers and drinks and were able to see Marc and Rhonda as they posed for pictures on the beach. After cocktail hour all of the guests were directed back upstairs to the main ballroom as I lined up the bridal party. Rhonda decided on Turn Up The Music by Chris Brown for the bridal part intro and Love and Marriage by Frank Sinatra for her and Marc (inside joke!!). Their first dance was Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis and half way through everyone joined them on the dance floor. The toasts were given by the 2 maids of honor and Marc's best friend Robert Curtiss. As the first course was served Marc and Rhonda walked around the room to greet all of the guests while I played a mix of love songs, smooth jazz and some up-beat dancing songs before the main course. Rhonda did not provide a song list because she was a guest at a wedding that I played at last year. She basically said "Ray work your magic and make them dance". After the main course that is exactly what they did dance, dance and dance some more. This was a real energetic group and loved the mix of top 40, classic rock, 80's, funk and latin tunes. Rhonda and Marc also provided a photo booth for everyone to enjoy. And what do you know it was the night of the super Moon. After the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss the dancing continued until the end. The last song for the evening was Last Dance by Donna Summer and Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble. I enjoyed every minute of this wedding and I am sure Rhonda and Marc felt the same way. Congrats to the new Marc and Rhonda Potvin and to the Thompson, Engemann and Marceau families. Special thanks to the management and staff at the Double Tree Resort. The smile on the bride's faces tell it all. Great job once again!!! DJ Ray
