Wedding and Reception at the Embassy Suites / Deerfield Beach

Good Day Wedding Bloggers!DJ Gregg here with another installment of the wedding update! This episode brings us to the nuptials of Jennifer and Shannon. On Saturday March 24th, 2012. The Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach played the backdrop role this time. Situated on the beach, it is a really nice venue to have a wedding and a party. The ceremony was decked out beautifully with rose petals on the floor and candles lining all of the rows. As the guests arrived, I played traditional prelude music. However when the Bridal Party entered, I changed it up a bit per their request. A very elegant version of "The way you look tonight" by Joey McIntyre brought the Bridal Party in. Then, as all of the guests stood up, I played "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait to allow the Bride to walk down to meet her Groom. The ceremony was not too long, but it was full of emotion and good cheer. After the vows and the first kiss, the Pastor introduced the new bride and groom. That was my cue to hit the recessional song "I Feel Good" by James Brown. Man, the crow erupted in applause and screams. A great way to signify the start of the PARTY!Now we go to the cocktail hour. The bride requested that we keep it tropical. So Reggae, Island and Steel Drum music was on tap. The bridal party went off to the beach to take pictures and to chill a bit.As we opened the main room, I kept it upbeat with some funky music. We then lined up the bridal party for introductions. A lot of fun here! They were really getting into it. Dancing down and making it fun. That's really what it's all about. As I introduced the B and G, the place went crazy! Everybody stood up and cheered. I played "Love Song" by 311. A great version of the old 80's song. I then invited the bridal party to dance to "Then" by Brad Paisley. As they were dancing, I invited all of the guests to the dance floor to get involved early on. I feel that the sooner the guests can get involved, the better a party it will be. Everybody got up. Not one seat was being used (well almost). I then asked everyone to sit down and invited the Pastor's wife to do the blessing before dinner. She did a great job. Dinner is served. After the salad, I invited the maid of honor and best man (the Groom's Dad) to do the champagne toasts. Dad really had some touching words and there was not a dry eye in the crowd. Once dinner was finished, I invited the Bride to dance with her Father. "Half the man he didn't have to be" by Brad Paisley was chosen. Great words in this song. I then invited Shannon to dance with his mom. "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong was the selection. I invited the rest of the guests to dance with them, and the we got the PARTY STARTED! I was able to play music from all eras and genres. There was a really mixed crowd here and it was great to see the dance floor full the entire night. The garter and bouquet toss was really fun and the cake cutting was a little messy. Always a great photo op there!A great time for all and a wonderful evening,Thanks for readingDJ Gregg
