On Saturday December 1st, 2012 I was at the Embassy Suites Hotel on Deerfield Beach for Caryn and Marshall Ollia and 70 friends and family members. The day started with a ceremony on the boardwalk overlooking the crashing waves caused by the high winds. The brides maids walked to "Marry Me" by Pat Monahan and Martina McBride, while Caryn was escorted by her mother to a traditional version of "Here Comes the Bride" by Royal Wedding Muisc. After they were pronounced husband and wife I played "I Gotta Feeling", as they were surrounded by all of their guests. Then everyone was invited to the hotel for cocktail hour with music provided by a steel drummer from Eddie B & Company. The entire event was outside on the South patio, it was a windy but enjoyable night out! I introduced the bridal party to "Zombie Nation" by Kernkraft 400, all of the guests were on their feet making alot of noise as I introduced everyone. Cayn and Marshall danced to "You and Me" by Dave Matthews, and then Marshall danced with his mother to "Wonderful World". The toats was given by Murray, a long time friend of the groom and then dinner was served. During dinner I played selected tunes from Caryn's play list as I kept the mood up beat and fun, relating to the Tropical atmosphere surrounding us. Then for three solid hours this group danced! From the well behaved and well mannered teens right up to Caryn's mother Barbara. I loved the playlist Caryn submitted to me, it was loaded with hits from the last 30 years from all genres of music. These people came to have fun and celebrate with Caryn and Marshall.....and they defintely accomplished that goal! The highlight of the evning was when Marshall and his fraternity brothers continued a tradition at weddings and sang the entire "American Pie" song by Don McClean. Need I say it was accepted and enjoyed by everyone, they knew all of the words!. Later the song of choice for the cake cutting was "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and for the final songs I played "Friends In Low Places" and "Red Solo Cup". Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Ollia, I enjoyed being a part of your special day!....DJ/MC Eddie B!
