On Friday, December 9th I was in Islamorada at the Fisher Inn Resort and Spa for the wedding reception of David and Sophie. The ceremony took place around 4:00pm on the sand just a few feet from the ocean. David walked down the aisle with his parents to I am not Afraid by Charlie Crockett. The officiant then asked everyone to stand as we all watched Sophie walk down to Kokomo by the O’Neill Brothers Group. The ceremony concluded with a traditional breaking of the glass and everyone yelled Mazel Tov as the newlyweds celebrated down the aisle together as husband and wife to The Way you Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson. The reception area was held on the sand with bistro lighting hanging over the long dining tables, and 20 LED up lights set to blush, provided by Eddie B & Company. When it was time for introductions, I invited everyone to stand in a large circle as we all welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs. Burton to Finesse by Bruno Mars and Cardi B. Kevin and Mary then embraced each other for their first dance to Keep on Loving You by REO Speedwagon. After the first dance I invited Sophie’s father and David’s Mother for a combined couples dance to The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. During dinner, I played a some Motown and easy listening music while the guests enjoyed their meal and the rest of the night was a party with a mix of pop, 80s and dance music favorites for all the guests to enjoy. The last song of the evening was Good Times by Sam Cooke, a perfect slow dance to end the night. Thank you David and Sophie for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It was an absolute pleasure partying with you and your family. - DJ ELOW
