Wedding and Reception at the Ft. Lauderdale Country Club
Allie and Philip Bennett celebrated their dream wedding at the Ft. Lauderdale C.C. in Plantation, FL on 12/7/2013. This was one of the more fun weddings I have been involved in. It began with an outdoor ceremony on the golf course where approximately 100 guests witnessed Allie and Philip tie the knot. At the ceremony Rachel one of the bridesmaids sang Unconditionally by Katy Perri for the happy couple and she sounded amazing. As Allie and Philip kissed and walked back up the isle, everyone cheered and seemed genuinely excited for them. All of the guests were invited to the second floor for cocktails and appetizers while the bridal party posed for pictures outside. The cocktail hour music was a mix of Rat Pack oldies that every one enjoyed. During this time I was decorating the main ballroom with 24 Amber colored, LED, wireless up-lights and dance floor lights while Steve was setting up the "Strike A Pose" photo-booth all provided by Eddie B & Company. Allie and Philip also provided me with a play list that included country, classic rock, top 40, disco and funk. I couldn't wait for the reception to start so I could get the mixes going. As all of the guests made their way into the ballroom, I lined up the 14 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Allie chose Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO for the bridal party intro and Safe and Sound by Capital Cities for her and Philip's intro. Allie and Philip performed a choreographed first dance to This I Promise You by Ronan Keating then Allie danced with her dad to Lullaby by Billy Joel. The very funny toasts were given by Jerry (man of honor) and Hayes (best man) then Allie's dad Mr. Jaime Caldwell gave a welcoming speech. This reception began with a bang and everyone found their seats for the first of three courses. The photo-booth became available for everyone to enjoy and it was busy all night along with the dance floor. This group really enjoyed dancing!!!! The mix of genres was perfect and the music selection by Allie and Philip was awesome. They did stop to catch their breath for the cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss and the anniversary dance. We all performed the Cha Cha Slide, The Cupid Shuffle and The Wobble before the night was over. The last songs were We Are Family by Sister Sledge, Last Dance By Donna Summer and Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. All of the guests were invited to the front entrance of the Country Club for an unforgettable send off for the happy couple with ribbon wedding wands. I can't wait to see the pictures!!! Congrats to Allie, Philip and the entire Bennett, Caldwell, Grant, Keever and Dinkins families. This was our first wedding at the Ft. Lauderdale C.C. in many years and I'm sure it will be very soon before we work together again. Very impressive venue for sure!!! Thank you to Rebecca and her wonderful staff. DJ Ray
