Wedding and Reception at the Hampton Inn / Islamorada

On Saturday December 31st, 2011 I played for Chi Chi and Shane McElroy and ninety friends and family members at the Hampton Inn at mile marker 80 / Islamorada the Florida Keys. This was my first time at this venue and I was not disappointed at all. The setting on the beach under a 100 foot white tent overlooking the ocean was breath taking. The afternoon was once again picture perfect for a Keys wedding. We started with a ceremony on the beach. The bridal party walked to "Air On G String" by Bach, and Chi Chi walked to Canon in D. The recessional was "Amber" by 311. I kept the music tropical and fun for the cocktail reception and then for the introduction I played "Ice Ice Baby" for the bridal party and "Sexy Back" for the newlyweds. Chi Chi and Shane danced to "Don't Change " by Musiq Soulchild and then Chi Chi danced with her father to "De Nina A Mujer" by Julio Iglesias and Shane danced with his mother to "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. After dinner (which was prepared by the Outback Steak House connected to the Hampton Inn), I started the dancing off with a few Salsa tunes (Chi Chi's side was Spanish), and from there on it was PARTY all night until we rang in the New Year. This was an eight hour marathon starting at 4 PM and ending at Midnight, and the energy from this group was sky high. I ROCKED THE BEACH the entire evening! Later the song of choice for the cake cutting was "Sweetest Thing" by U2 and then more dancing. The music was a mix of Salsa, Merengue, Top 40 Club Hits, and a few retro tunes from the 80's and 90's. I also want to thank Tonyia and her staff for their help and hospitality, everyone was so pleasant and easy to work with. I want to say thank you to Chi Chi and Shane, I enjoyed this as much as you did, and I wish you both all the best, enjoy your honeymoon on Saint Kitts Island! DJ/MC Eddie B!
