Femke and Luis Perez celebrated their wedding at the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Marina in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 8/30/2015. Approximately 50 guests arrived at the Hilton that Sunday late afternoon, and were directed to the in-door ceremony were the happy couple made it official. They sealed their love with a big kiss as everyone cheered on. The cocktail hour music was provided by a friend of the family (live pianist) while everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers. When all of the guests were invited to the reception area, I lined up the 11 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Femke chose Let's Get Loud by J Lo for the bridal party intros and Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars for her and Luis' intro. The first dance was to My Girl by The Temptations then Femke danced with her dad to Daughters by John Mayer and Luis danced with his mom to Slide by The Goo Goo Dolls. The toasts were given by Luis' dad Taco, Iris (maid of honor) and Max(best man). Soon after, everyone found their seats and prepared for a three course meal. Most of the guests that evening were from the Netherlands. Femke did not provide me with a play list but did ask me to take request and to have fun with her group. I must say they really knew how to party!!! The drinking and the dancing went hand and hand all evening. These 50 guests sounded like 100 guests that's how loud and fun they were!! I played a mix of top 40, classic rock, EDM, disco and funk. We did pause for the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss as the night progressed, but that dance floor was extra busy. As the evening came to an end I played Dancing In The Moonlight which was a special request from Luis to his beautiful bride as the closing song. And that my friends put a bow on a great Sunday wedding!! Congrats to Femke, Luis and the entire Perez and de Groot families. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Hilton for their excellent service as always.
