Peggy and Marcus Platt celebrated their very anticipated wedding at the Historic Maxwell Room in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 5/5/2017. The weather was perfect for a dockside ceremony that Friday evening. As the approximate 50 guests arrived they were directed to the area across from the Downtowner to witness the happy couple tie the knot. As soon as the ceremony ended all of the guests were invited into the Maxwell Room for the cocktail hour and reception. Everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers whilel I played a mix of easy listening tunes. When it was time for the intros I lined up the 10 member bridal party in the courtyard. Marcus chose Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars for the bridal party intros and Timber by Pitbull for him and Peggy's intros. The first dance was to Sailing by C. Cross and all of the guests joined the happy couple on the dance floor. The toasts were given by Lisa (maid of honor) and Torsten (best man) then Pat Swarthout gave the blessing of the meals. Everyone found their seats and prepared for a buffet style dinner. Marcus did provide me with a play list that included top 40, classic rock, country and 80s and 90s dance hits. After dinner the dance floor filled up very quickly. They danced to all of the genres and really enjoyed the mixes I played. We did have a cake cutting and a bouquet toss (no garter) along with an anniversary dance. As I played the closing song which was Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC all of the remaining guests gather on the dance floor to wish the happy couple their best wishes. Congrats to Peggy, Marcus and the entire Platt family.
Special thanks to Libby and her amazing staff at the Maxwell Room...You guys rock!!
