Wedding and Reception at the Historic Needham Estates / Ft. Lauderdale

On Saturday December 29th, 2012 I was at the historic Needham Estates on the New River in Ft. Lauderdale for Star and Pradeep Vanguri. The evening started with 100 friends and family members gathered on the lawn of this beautiful home built in 1910 for the ceremony. The music was provided by a string trio and I supplied the microphone system. A note of interest, since this house is on the New River there was a lot of boat traffic because we were next door to the water taxi landing. There were a few cheers coming from the passengers as Star & Pradeep exchanged vows! Then all of the guests were invited to cocktail hour which took place in the front of the house behind a wall of ivy and tropical landscaping. The recption took place on the backyard and I started this festive evening by introducing the bridal party to "Beautiful Day" by U2, and the newlyweds to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder. The first dance was "Lovely Tonight" by Joshua Radin, followed by the father/daughter dance, "Walk With You" by Edwin McCain and the mother/son dance, "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. After two toasts a delicious dinner was served by CA Catering and their five star staff . I provided a mix of dinner music requested by Star and Pradeep for everyone to enjoy. Towards the end of dinner I made an announcement for compliementary water taxi rides and a short tour of the downtown area via the New River. I started the dancing by mixing old school R&B, with Top 40 Club Hits and a few Indian tunes. The party was going well so I was asked to stay another hour, and here is where I played alot of classics from the 80's. The cake was cut to "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers and the final song was "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. All of the guests rallied around Star and Pradeep one last time before saying goodnight and sending them off to Key West for their honeymoon. I want to say Thank You to Marta and her staff from CA Catering for another 5 star presentation.....they are very good at what they do!
