On Saturday February 9th, 2013 I had the pleasure playing for Brooke and Richard Black and 200 family members and friends. This was a wedding to remember. The ceremony room was decored with tropical plants, flowers, and palm trees which was highlighted with Lavender Wireless LED up lights provided by Eddie B & Company. A friend of the family, Mr. Mike Myatt officiated the ceremony, and it was filled with laughter, a few stories, and finally the I do's! I played "All I Want Is You" by Tristan Prettyman for the bridal party, and Brooke walked to "Love Me Tender" by Adam Levy and Norah Jones. The recessional was "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Next up was the cocktail reception and Eddie B & Company provided a Strike A Pose photo booth for all of the guests to enjoy. This was a BIG HIT during the reception, the guests were creative with the party props we provided and at the end of the night we handed the newlyweds a photo album of the entire event! I introduced the bridal party to "Mama Told Me Not To Come" and the newlyweds to "Wild Thing" by the Troggs. The first dance was "Sparks by Coldplay. Later Brooke danced with her father Dave, to "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor. What was different about the music format for evening was it was all Classic Rock and Brooke and Richard are only in their 20's. We were at the Fishing Hall of Fame for a reason, our newlyweds live in Tavenier (Florida Keys), where fishing is their lifestyle so they wanted to hold their celebration at a venue which reflected that. They hit a home run! Not only is this a wonderful facility to host an event, there is so much to see at all of the exhibits about fishing. Anyway, back to the music. I played tunes from Three Dog Night, Tommy James, Meatloaf, Chubby Checker, The Beatles, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bob Seger, The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Commodores, The Jackson 5, and many more. We simply rocked the house the entire reception ( I Loved it.....no Rap Crap!) Later the cake was cut to "When I'm Sixty Four" by The Beatles and Richard removed the garter to "Under Pressure" by David Bowie, while Brooke tossed her bouquet to "Luck Be A Lady" by Frank Sinatra. We ended the night with "Take Me Home" by Eddie Money and then all of the guests were invited outside for a sparkler send off! The young couple will be honeymooning in Nappa Valley. I wish them all the best....DJ/MC Eddie B!
