On Sunday Nov. 10, I drove down to the Islander in Islamorada in the Keys to party and celebrate the wedding of Jonathan and Tiffany Matos. The weather was not great so we moved the reception inside but the ceremony was going to be on the beach rain or shine and it did rain but we watched and enjoyed the ceremony on the beach in the rain. The bridal party walked down to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Mr. Israel K. The bride walked to A Thousand Years the piano version, great song. Once pronounced husband and wife, Life Is Better with You by Michael Franti.
Cocktail hour was on the veranda, and people drank and relaxed to Reggae and steel drum music.
As the guests entered the room, it could not have been more beautiful with the Lavender uplights that lit up the room provided by Eddie B & Company. The bridal party entered to I Feel So Close, Calvin Harris. The Newlyweds entered to We Found Love by Rhianna as all of the guests cheered and screamed for them. Of course I encouraged them....The first dance was from Luther and Maria, Endless Love. The bride then danced with mom and the groom with his mom to A song For Mama, by Boys II Men.
Following a few great toast, buffet was served. I played some Keith Sweat, MJ, Jason Mraz, Beyonce and many R&B artists.
The party jammed following dinner as they were a line dancing crowd so I played everything. Macarena, C'mon Ride the Train for a conga line. Electric slide, Cupid Shuffle, Hokey Pokey, Cotton Eye Joe and of course the Wobble.
This was a partying bunch of people that danced all night long. They especially got into the garter / bouquet as the groom took it off with his teeth to Wild Thing.
A great time was had by all in the Keys with DJ Marc Evans....
