On Saturday December 7th, 2013 I played for Jamie & Leo Hernandez and 50 family members and friends at the Islander Resort located at mile marker 82 in Islamorada. What a day for a beach wedding! It was picture perfect! The ceremony was held at 4 PM on the sandy white beach cooled by a gentle breeze. I played "Over The Rainbow" for the bridal party, and Jamie walked to "Bless The Broken Road", escorted by her mother. After the exchange of vows and a sand ceremony, Jamie & Leo sealed their vows with a kiss and I played "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. Next up was a group picture of the newlyweds and all of their guests on the beach, followed by a cocktail reception for which I played a variety of Tropical Steel Pan music. I introduce Jamie and & Leo to "Let's Get It Started In Here" by the B.E.P.'s and their first dance was a classic by Ray Charles, "Come Rain or Come Shine". After the toasts were presented, a sit down dinner was served under the stars by a very up beat and attentive staff at The Islander. The cake was cut to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson, and the final song of the evening was "Glad You Came" by The Wanted. During the evening I played more of a Top 40 Club music format with a mix of Salsa for our Spanish guests, and he dance floor was alive for more than 2 hours. I want say hats off to Diane Richey and her staff at The Islander for another First Class presentation! Congrats once again to Jamie & Leo....all the best....DJ/MC Eddie B!
