Alia and Luis Montalva got married on 6/1/2012 at the beautiful Jacaranda Country Club in front of 120 friends and family members. Alia decided long ago to have the ceremony indoors because of the weather issues is S. Florida. Well it paid off because it did rain during the ceremony but everyone was dry and comfortable indoors. After the ceremony all of the guests were treated to cocktail hour in the club room where they enjoyed drinks, appetizers and a mix of Rat Pack favorites. The main ballroom was converted to the reception area and everyone was directed to their tables for the grand entrance. Alia chose Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO for the bridal party entrance and Everything Tonight by Pitbull and Ne-Yo for her and Luis. As they reached the dance floor the bridal party performed a flash mob to the Wobble by V.I.C. (it worked perfect). Alia and Luis then danced their first dance to Until by Sting. Alia then danced with her dad to Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Sting (it was a surprise...Alia had no idea what the song was going to be). Luis got a chance to dance with his mom to You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban, then Alia danced with her step dad to Think Of Me from The Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack. Everyone found their seats then best man Peter, maid of honor Afaf and Alia's dad made the speeches. A buffet style dinner was next on the agenda as I played a mix of soft jazz and oldies as requested by Alia. Alia and her mom did provide me with a small list of their favorites and left it up to me for the rest. Alia's dad also provided me with a few songs from his native country Lebanon. So there were folks from Lebanon, Egypt, Mexico, Cuba and Peru that attended this wedding. After a solid hour of dancing we performed the anniversary dance, the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss. This was another very energetic group that danced until the end. Alia requested that the last songs for the evening be Home by Phillip Phillips and What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. Congrats to the new Mr. ands Mrs. Luis and Alia Montalva!! Everything worked out just the way we planned it. Also thanks to the management and staff at the Jacaranda C.C. for always providing 5 star service. DJ Ray
