On August 13,2011 Ryan and Allison Robertson were married at the beautiful Lago Mar Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It all started with a breath-taking ceremony on the beach that was witnessed by approximately 75 guests and some beach goers that were passing by. Allison's mom Kathy was in charge of the ceremony music and she put together a cd for me with 4 songs that were perfect for the occasion. After Ryan and Allison kissed and walked back down the isle, the guests were treated to a cocktail hour while immediate family stayed behind for some fabulous pictures on the beach. For the grand entrance Allison requested that just bride and groom be introduced and then right into the first dance which was Is This Love by Bob Marley. Allison then dance with her dad to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and Ryan danced with his mom to Days Like This by Van Morrison. The matron of honor and best man made 2 touching and funny speeches then Allison's dad Tim made a toast. The evening continued with appetizers, a salad then the main course which was divided into 3 separate stations. After dinner the dancing started with 2 Irish classics, Danny Boy and A Lovely Rose of Clare which were requested by Allison's family. Everyone danced and had fun dancing to a mix of top 40, oldies and classic rock which were requested by Allison. The highlight of the evening was when Allison's cousin Amy Lynn performed a traditional Irish wedding tradition called Treble Reel. The staff pulled out a round table and Amy Lynn with tap shoes and all performed the dance on the table. They all told me that it's not an Irish wedding until someone is dancing on a table! That was hilarious and everyone cheered after the dance. Allison and Ryan also requested no cake cutting ceremony or garter/bouquet toss. All that did was give them more dancing time on the floor. And of course they made the best of it. The evening ended with everyone gathering in the middle of the dance floor and singing to Piano Man by Billy Joel. It was a sight to see. I went to the middle of the floor also with my microphone. And like to song says "the microphone smelled like a beer". Lots of luck to 2 very special people, The New Mr. and Mrs. Allison and Ryan Robertson.
I must also add that the staff and management at the Lago Mar Resort were absolutely fabulous!!! Thanks to them Allison and Ryan's big day was a huge success!!
