On Saturday June 1st, 2013 I was at the Lago Mar Hotel on Ft. Lauderdale Beach for Maryanne and Dr. Neil LaBove. Since the weather didn't cooperate the ceremony was held indoors. As 50 family members and friends gathered I played a list of songs requested by Maryanne for the prelude to the ceremony. The bridal party walked to "Jesus, Joy Of Man" and for our bride it was "Panis Angelicus" by Andrea Bocelli. After an inter faith ceremony performed by a reverend and a rabi, Neil broke the glass and I played "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. The cocktail reception was a mix of Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Michael Buble, and Perry Como. I introduced their children (M.O.H. & Best Men) to "Getting In The Mood" by Brian Setzer, followed by a first dance for the newlyweds...."I Have Dreamed" by Andy Williams. After a delicious sit down dinner and a few toasts, the dancing started with "Sweet Caroline", followed by a traditional Hora and never stopped until the final 2 songs "Save The Last Dance For Me" and "Goodnight Sweetheart". In between I played a mix of Disco Classics, some Motown, Top 40 Dance, and even a few Country Tunes that were requested. The cake was cut to "How Sweet It Is" and I dedicated "Bad Moon Rising" to the "Full Moonies Clan" that was in attendance along with a congrats to Kevin (grooms son), and his fiancé on their upcoming wedding. This was a fun group that came to celebrate and dance no matter what the weather was like outside. Also hats off to Claudia and her staff at the Lago Mar Hotel for another job well done! Congrats and all the best to Maryanne and Neil....DJ/MC Eddie B!
