On Saturday, October 19th, I had the pleasure of hosting the wedding celebration of Eric and Sharon.
The ceremony and reception were held at the Lake Worth Casino Complex. If you have never been there, then you are in for a treat. First, there is no casino on the premises, (funny, don't know why) however there is the best ocean front view that you could imagine!
As the guests arrived for the ceremony, I played some instrumental versions of current country songs, per request. Big and Rich, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and the like.
When the girls walked down the aisle, I played the traditional "Canon in D Minor". Sharon walked down to the traditional "Here comes the Bride" by Wagner.
All of the guests stood up and paid tribute to the bride on her wedding day. The ceremony was very touching, the pastor made references to marriage being a covenant, not a contract. He proceeded to explain the differences. It really made a lot of sense. After the rings were exchanged, and the vows were made, I played the traditional wedding exit.
Now we go upstairs for cocktail hour. The patio is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. No clouds were in the sky. It was a gorgeous night! I played some Standards, Country, and light vocal per request. It was a smooth hour.
Now I opened the main room. I proceeded to play some upbeat music to keep the feet tapping. Nothing over the top, but just enough to let the guests know that they are in for a party. I also made the announcement that Jerry was ready at the Photo Booth, provided by Eddie B & Company, to start taking snapshots!
After the B and G finished taking pics on the beach, I lined them up for the grand entrance. I was instructed to play "Enter Sandman" by Metallica for the Bridal Party entrance. I then played "Night Train" by Jason Aldean for Eric and Sharon. The place lit up with applause!
I started them into the first dance. Eric Church's "I Love Your Love The Most" was requested.
They danced by themselves.
I then asked the pastor to say the prayer before the serving stations were opened .
After dinner, the best man and Maid of honor said their toasts.
I proceeded to do the Father Daughter and Mother Son dances. "I loved her first" and Simple Man" respectively.
Now we get the party going! I played all types of music from all generations. It was a very mixed crowd. Everyone seemed to be having a great time!
They cut the cake to Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust". They fed each other with no mess.
Then the garter and bouquet were removed and throw. I played "Just A Girl" and "Danger Zone" for that. It was fun!
We then danced them for the rest of the night.
It was a great evening and I am sure everyone had a great time! --
