Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this installment of the wedding blog. Our event was on Friday, January 16th. The venue was the unique Lakeside Pavilion in downtown West Palm Beach. This venue is very nice with a great view of the water!
As the guests arrived for the ceremony, they were directed to the grassy area next to the hall. It was a nice crisp day and a little breezy, but not uncomfortable.
I was asked to play specific music for the prelude. Fly me to the Moon, Wanted, by Hunter Hayes and My Best Friend by Tim McGraw. As the wedding party was walking down I played, "Dreams Come True" by Jasmine Cruz. It was a beautiful song. I then played the "Bridal March" for Luna. She looked great!
The ceremony went off without a hitch.
After that we went to the terrace for cocktail hour. I was asked to play an eclectic mix of old and new music. It was a mixed crowd and it was very appropriate.
I then opened the main room. I played some Brazilian Jazz per the request of the Bride and Groom. I then introduced the bridal party to "Party Rock Anthem". Chris and Luna came in to "Good Feeling" by Flo Rida. I immediately went into the first dance "Bless the Broken Road" by the Rascal Flatts. After that I invited the bridal party and guests up to dance to "At Last" by Etta James. Since everyone was on the floor, I decided to kick it up a notch and played "I Gotta Feeling" by the Peas. It went over great! The crowd was dancing and having a great time.
After this, I asked the Maid of Honor and Best man to come up and say a few words. They were very touching and at times...funny!
Now Dinner Started.
I kept it light with music from all genres.
After dinner I played the parent dances "My Wish" and What a Wonderful World" in order. At this time I turned up the heat and played some dance music. I kept it current for most of the evening with some classic hits thrown in for good measure.
We proceeded to cut the cake. I played "Grow Old with You" by Adam Sandler. Then we did the garter and bouquet toss. A young girl caught the bouquet so we did it again, but she kept the flowers as a prize.
After this I picked up the pace again and we danced the night away.
A great time was had by all!
