Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding blog.
On Saturday March 9th I had the pleasure of hosting the ceremony and reception of Yogi and Lori. They were married at the Lakeside Terrace in Boca Raton.
As the guests arrived, I was asked to keep it very traditional, playing prelude instrumental music.
The bridal party entered with "Canon in D Minor" by Pachabel. Then Lori walked in to "Here Comes The Bride". It was classic. The ceremony was very traditional, including the exchanging of rings. After the " I Do's", they exited to "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn
The cocktail hour was held in the lobby area. I was asked to play some standards and Rat Pack tunes.
We then opened up the main dining room. The room was decorated beautifully. The room was highlighted in red LED up lights, provided by Eddie B & Company.
Once I lined up the bridal party, I introduced them to "Beautiful People" by Chris Brown. Then I asked Yogi and Lori to enter and dance their first dance in THE CLOUDS.. Yes, the Cumulus Cloud system (provided by Eddie B & Company) allowed Yogi and Lori to have their first dance in the clouds. It is a wonderful effect and looks great on video and photos! The place erupted in applause! "Heaven" by Kane Brown was requested.. Then Lori danced with her dad to "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins. Then Yogi danced with his mom. They chose" Be As You Are" by Mike Posner. During this I invited all of the couples to dance. Once that song ended, I asked all of the guests to sit down and we did our special toasts and dedications. Lori's dad Frank was very happy to get up and say a few words. He welcomed everyone to the event. His words were very heartfelt.
Soon after that, I asked Viviana, Matt, Lui and Sabrina to say some special words and dedications. again, very heartfelt and touching.
Now dinner is served. I kept it light, playing standards and light vocals.
After dinner is when we turned up the heat. I played all types of music and genres, however the classics went over best!
The cake cutting occurred without a hitch, since they were very civil to each other while feeding. I used "How Sweet It Is" by Michel Buble'.Shortly after that I proceeded to do the traditional garter and bouquet toss. I asked Yogi to come up and take the garter off of Lori's leg. Well, I have to say that this was quite a show! Yogi really played it up for his bride. Then it was the girl's turn. All the single ladies got up to catch the bouquet. I played " Where Dem Girls At" by David Guetta. Then it was the guys turn. I used " slow Motion" by Trey Songz. They all reached for the garter but only one is victorious!.
After that we got back into the party and danced the rest of the evening!
The guests were a lot of fun and the dance floor was busy all night long...
Congrats to Lori and Yogi!!!!
