Wedding and Reception at the Lauderdale Yacht Club

Mara and Bill Porter celebrated their wedding at the Lauderdale Yacht Club in Ft. Lauderdale FL on 3/10/2013 along with 80 of their closest friends and relatives.  The celebration began with a beautiful indoor ceremony (Mara took the weather completely out of the equation) where Mara and Bill got a chance to show off their creative skills.  They both added LED lights to their wardrobe. Bill's suit jacket and Mara's wedding gown both had lighting that they created themselves and it looked amazing!!  After the ceremony all of the guests made their way outside to the cocktail hour where they enjoyed drinks, appetizers and tropical tunes.   Bill and Mara chose the classic 5 hour package which included 20 LED up-lights and dance floor lights.  As the guests were filing into the main ballroom after the cocktail hour, I lined up the 17 member bridal party for the grand entrance.  Mara chose the Peter Gunn Theme from the Blues Brothers for the bridal party entrance and Gangnam Style for her and Bill.  As they entered the room all of the guests were asked to go to the dance floor for a big group picture of everyone dancing to the song.  That was a lot of fun!!  The first dance was I'm Yours by Jason Mraz then Mara danced with her dad to I Loved Her First by Heartland and Bill danced with his mom to What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.  The toasts were given by Mara's dad Javier and Bill's uncle Richard.  As the guests enjoyed a buffet style dinner I played a mix of smooth jazz, oldies and love songs as requested by Mara.  She provided me with a play list that included music from the 80's, top 40, classic rock, salsa, merengue and progressive dance.  After dinner the dance floor opened up and a little while later the happy couple cut the wedding cake and performed the garter/bouquet toss.  They danced the night away until the last songs which were Glad You Came by The Wanted and Closing Time by Semisonic.  Congrats to Mara, Bill and the entire Tuchman, Salvo and Porter families.  Special thanks to the management and staff at the Lauderdale Yacht Club for their attention to detail!!!
