On Saturday November 10th, 2012 I played for a wedding at the Hollywood Beach Marriott. It was a very windy cool Saturday evening on the beach lined with chairs for our guests, and an arch where our bride and groom exchanged their wedding vows South Florida style. A selection of Spanish guitar music and a selection from Beethoven “Ode To Joy” were played as our guests arrived. When it was time for our groom to escort his mother to her seat they entered to Bach’s “ Jesus, Joy To Man’s Desiring “. Our groom returned to the entrance and was then led by Pastor Baik to the Arch. The bridesmaids’ entered to a musical selection from Pachebel “Canon in D” and then our bride came in to be by the side of her groom to the “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner. During the ceremony we had readings from 1 Corinthians and Colossians followed by a Gospel selection from the book of John. After the exchange of the vows and the rings, Carrie Underwood’s version of, “How Great Though Art” was played. During the ceremony a “Prayer Shawl” was passed around for everyone to say a prayer for the couple which was then blessed by Pastor Baik. A final prayer was said blessing the couple and after their kiss they walked down the aisle in the sand to the “Wedding March” by Mendelssohn. The festivities continued with the reception held in the ball room beautifully decorated that included Emerald Green LED up lighting provided by Eddie B & Company. When the main lights were dimmed, it was sheer beauty and elegance. The bridal party entered with a musical selection from Def Leppard “Pour Some Sugar on Me” Live version and our bride and groom entered to “I’ve Got A Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. The bridal party after the introduction did a Flash Mob at the point in the song “… here we come, here we go …), WOW what an exciting moment! This lead to the first dance as husband and Wife “Over The Rainbow” by Israel K. Our couple decided to have their parents dance immediately after their first dance. The bride danced first with her father to “Could I have This Dance” Anne Murray then her stepdad, “Somewhere out There “ James Ingram & Linda Rondstat. Later for the cake cutting our couple chose “Sweetest Thing” by U2. The entire bridal party and their guests danced to selections from the Rolling Stones “Honky Tonk Woman”; “Last Friday Night” Katy Perry; “Closer To Fine” Indigo Girl and many more. The night ended with “I’ve Had The Time of My Life” Bill Medley & Jennifer Warren and “Closing Time” Semisonic … but not before a final tribute to all the folks from out of town especially a family from New York –Sinatra’s “New York, New York” Congratulations Scott and Karen!
