Good Day Wedding Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here and I have a great story to tell you! On Saturday, I had the pleasure of hosting an event for Greg and Donna. Their wedding ceremony and reception was held at the historic Maxwell Room in Ft. Lauderdale. It is a gem of a facility and is situated along the New River.
The ceremony was to be performed in the courtyard. As the guests arrived, I played some Neo-classics from the Vitamin String Quartet and the 2Cellos. The ceremony began with the Bridal Party walking down the aisle. I was asked to play "A Thousand Year" by Christine Perri. Then Donna walked down to "Bridal March" by Jonathon Cain. The ceremony was unique. They gave each other special vows and then were pronounced husband and wife! I played "At Last" by Etta James for the exit song.
Cocktail hour was in the Maxwell room. I played an eclectic mix of country, light rock and some standards. It set a nice tone for the rest of the evening.
The grand entrance of the bridal party was started with "September" by Earth wind, And Fire. I then introduced Greg and Donna. They went into their first dance "In Case You didn't Know" by Brett Young.. I then invited Donna to dance with her dad. "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole was chosen. After that I instructed Greg to dance with his mom. They picked "Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong.
The toasts by Bonnie and Andy, the maid of honor and best man were done next. Very sentimental and to the point.
Dinner service is starting and I keep the soundtrack fairly light. At this point, the photo booth was to open. Chris, the attendant was ready to meet and greet everyone. And, as usual, this was provided by Eddie B & Company Again, I played an eclectic mix for an eclectic crowd. We then proceeded to do the cake cutting service. I played "Pour Some Sugar On Me" per their request
After dinner, I was asked to start the dancing and the party never stopped from that point on.
As stated, it was a very diverse crowd of all makes and models and the music styles varied too. A very refreshing evening indeed!
