On Friday June 1st, 2012 I played for Tara and Kevin Barret and 107 friends and family members at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The evening started with mother nature being un-cooperative for an outdoor ceremony. Then with a little luck the rain stopped for twenty minutes and Tara and Kevin were able to exchange thier vows outside in front of a picturesque view of the lake. Everyone was happy for them and even though it was over cast all day the sun did shine for Tara and Kevin. After the cocktail reception I introduced the bridal party to "Sexy and I Know It" and their first dance was a classic by The Flamingos, "I only Have Eyes For You". After a welcome toast by Mr. Dominick LoPresti (F.O.B.), and toasts by the bridal party, I presented the parents dances. The father/daughter dance was by Paul Simon, 'Father and Daughter", and the mother/son dance was "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel. Then a delicious buffet was presented for all to enjoy, and topped off with a candy station. My music was a mix of fifty years of hits from the Top 40 hits to Sinatra & Bobby darin. This was a fun group of party goers that loved to dance and they knew one another. The highlight of the evening was watching grandfather Eugene take over the dance floor on numerous occaisions and WOW the guests with all of his moves! Later the cake was cut to "When I'm Sixty Four" by The Beatles, and Kevin removed the garter to the "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend", while Tara tossed her bouquet to "All the Single Ladies. For the final song it was another classic, this time by Frank Sinatra, "The Last Dance". Everyone rallied arround Tara & Kevin one last time before I said goodnight and sent them off to the Dominican Republic for thier honeymoon. Congrats once again to the newlyweds and five stars going out to Allana and her first class staff at the Morikami for doing such a wonderful presentation even though the weather didn't cooperate......DJ/MC Eddie B!
