Good Bloggers!
This weeks installment of the wedding blog has us visiting the Morikami Museum and Gardens.
The venue is spectacular and very picturesque!
As the guests gathered in front of the lake for the ceremony, I played some contemporary violin music by the Vitamin String Quartet and 2Cellos.
The bridal party and bride walked in to the theme from Payon. A very beautiful instrumental that was specifically chosen for the ceremony.
The officiant did a wonderful job and talked about how the bride and groom met each other while playing video games.... They have been together for over 8 years and were finally ready to tie the knot.
The exit music was "Tenderness" by General Public.
The cocktail hour was on the terrace. It was a very nice evening and a slight breeze made it very comfortable. I played some down tempo house music as requested by Jamie and Kyle. They are both into electronica so this was perfect for them!
After cocktail hour, we opened the room for all of the guests. I have to say that it was beautifully decorated. The floral arrangements were amazing and the LED up lighting looked excellent provided by Eddie B & Company, along with our Strike A Pose photo booth!
As the guests entered, I kept the electronica theme going, per the bride and groom request. I then invited the bridal party to enter. Jamie and Kyle danced the first dance of the evening. "Baby I'm Yours" by the Arctic Monkeys was chosen.
I then got the dance floor moving with Daft Punk "One More Time". Another request by Jamie and Kyle.
After that we did the speeches by the parents and toasts by the maid of honor and best man. Dinner was served next.
I played some standards for dinner and mixed in some down tempo house music. Again as requested by the newlyweds.
After dinner, I asked Jamie and her Mom to the dance floor for the first parent dance "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerren was chosen. I then asked Kyle and his Mom to dance. They chose "Sweet Child of Mine" by Sheryl Crow. A great version of the GNR classic.I asked the rest of the guests to dance with them and then we got the party started!
This was a very mixed crowd with guests of all ages. I played music from the 50's all the way up to the latest tunes of today. I was even asked to play some Korean dance and house music!
During the dancing, I noticed that some of the guests were wearing very funny masks. A frog, a lizard, and even some chickens... It was hilarious!
The cake was cut with a special mix that was provided by the Bride and Groom. Instrumental music from one of their favorite video games.
The garter and bouquet toss happened after that.
We then picked up the pace from that point forward and danced the rest of the evening!
The final song was "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey...
A great party!
