Wedding and Reception at the Ocean Sky Resort / Ft. Lauderdale

On Saturday, January 17th, 2015 I had the pleasure of DJing/MCing the Ceremony and Reception for Josh and Krystl Hyfler at the beautiful Ocean Sky Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Ceremony took place outdoors right on the beach! For the grooms processional, I played Nothing Else Matters, by Apocalyptica. For the bride’s processional, she walked down the isle to the song In My Life, by the Beatles. After a beautiful Ceremony, everyone walked out to the song Rock and Roll Pt 2, by Gary Glitter. Following the Ceremony, I played a mixture of Easy Listening and Modern Chill Rock for a cocktail hour. Following the Cocktail Hour, I introduced the Bride and Groom to the song Break on Through by The Doors. For the first dances, The Bride opted to only do the Father Daughter Dance after the introductions. Randy, the brides father and Krystl danced to two songs that I mixed on the fly, Change the World, by Eric Clapton and Only in America by Jay and the Americans. For the dinner service, I continued with a similar selection of music to the cocktail hour, but slowly ramped up into the Bride’s reception playlist. By the time dinner service concluded, it was time for the Bride’s surprise to the groom. A beautiful slide show that she put together. The crowd shared tears of joy and a lot of laughs. Following the slide show, there was a series of toasts by friends and family. After that, we kicked it into full gear for dancing. The floor quickly filled as the guests danced and sang along to a majority of the songs. After about an hour of dancing, we did the Cake Cutting to the song Sugar Sugar by The Archies. After the cake cutting we did the bouquet toss to the song Independent Woman by Destiny’s Child. The rest of the evening, I DJed a mixture of music that the Bride and Groom hand picked and mixed in a good selection of Top 40. During the reception The Bride and Groom danced to the song Never Can Tell, by Chuck Berry and reenacted the famous scene from Pulp Fiction! For the closing, the Bride and Groom chose, Closing Time by Semi Sonic and as a special request I played the song Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond after. The entire group of guests all gathered on the floor and danced and sang the night to a close. On behalf of Eddie B and Company and the Ocean Sky Resort, I would like to thank them for a great night.
