Leah and Philip exchanged their nuptials in the Clubhouse at The Oceanage, Saturday April 27, 2013. The nuptial was attended by over 80 family members and friends of the bride and groom. Peggy the officiant was first to enter the room and the groomsmen escorted the mothers of the bride and groom to their seats. Leah’s Aunt Nancy played Canon D as the groomsmen, our handsome groom Philip and the bridesmaids entered. Leah escorted by her dad then walked in to the Wedding March, also played by her very talented Aunt. After the cocktail hour the guests were invited to the reception area under a beautifully decorated tent on the beach. (Several times during the evening it was mentioned that it was Leah’s dream to get married on the beach. What a beautiful evening it was! The Bridal party was introduced to the dance floor followed by Leah and Philip while “Beautiful Day” by U2 played. Leah and Philip for their first dance selected “At Last” by Etta James. We were in for a treat when James, father of our bride danced with his daughter to a special selection from Pachebel “Canon in D" and Philip danced with his Mom to “How About You” by Frank Sinatra.
After the parents danced we had several toasts starting with our best man Frederick then Linda (Bride’s Mother); James (Bride’s Father) and Stacey one of our bridesmaids.
After dinner, the festivities continued with the cake cutting as “A Kiss To Build a Dream On” by Louis Armstrong played. Our guests enjoyed selections such as “We Found Love”; “Don’t You worry Child”; Flo Rida “Low”; “On the Floor” by Jennifer Lopez. But wait we can’t forget the classics “Unforgettable” Nat King Cole; “Twist and Shout” the Beatles and much more. The evening ended with The Rocky Horror Picture Show “Time Warp” as several of the bride’s friends took the center of the dance floor with a choreographed dance. But that was not the end, as friends and family lined a walkway with sparklers; “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey was playing in the background. One of Leah’s favorite songs “MacArthur Park by Donna Summer followed. The evening ended with “Sweet Carolina” Neil Diamond.
