On July 2, 2011 Daniel and Mary Lou Hurtado were married at the Palms Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. The event began with a beautiful ceremony outside in the back by the gazebo. After Daniel and Mary Lou were pronounced husband and wife they walked back down the isle(processional) to a live version of Si Nos Dejan by a Mariachi Band that they hired for cocktail hour. The guests were very surprised since they had no idea that a live Mariachi Band was going to be the cocktail hour entertainment. After the cocktail hour the guests entered the reception ballroom as I lined up the bridal party. The bridal party entered to If You Leave by OMD and the bride and groom entered to Just Like Heaven by The Cure. This was a very live and energetic group who gave the bride and groom a standing ovation as they danced their first dance. The first dance was Tu Amor Me Hace Bien by Marc Anthony. That was the first time I played that song for a first dance. Mary Lou then danced with her father to Mi Nina Bonita by Vicente Fernandez and Daniel danced with his mother to Con Los Anos Que Me Quedan by Gloria Estefan. Daniel and Mary Lou are both of Mexican descent so the play list that was provided to me had a good mix of Mexican corridas, merengue, salsa, baladas and top 40 dance hits. The mix worked like a charm!! After dinner the dancing continued, of course packed dance floor all night. The guests barely sat down. The highlight of the evening was the last song. It is a Hurtado family tradition for everyone to sing-a-long to Volver, Volver by Vicente Fernandez before they all went outside and took a group picture with sparklers. It was a perfect way to cap off an amazing wedding that will be remembered forever. The Palms Hotel staff once again did an exceptional job keeping the guests happy and making it a memorable night for Daniel and Mary Lou.
