Hello again from the virtual DJ Marc Evans celebrating with John and Monica Hopkins who travelled with family and friends from NY to the Palms Hotel in South Beach Miami. On October 20th, 2012, underneath the gazebo in front of 40 guests, John and Monica were married in a beautiful setting while family and friends looked on. The groom, bridal party, and the pastor walked down the aisle to Canon in D. Monica selected, The Closer I Get to You, by Roberta Flack. When the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife, I played as requested, Love on Top, by Beyonce. Great choice as they jammed down the aisle. For cocktail hour, since they were all from out of town, the bride and groom wanted some steel drum music. The music was once again perfectly played and selected by Marc Evans as all the guests enjoyed the beautiful weather outside overlooking the ocean, the gazebo and the awesome decor of The Palms Hotel. The evening could not have been more beautiful as their was a slight breeze in the air.Once cocktail hour was over and the guest walked into the well lit room with Lavender uplighting provided by Eddie B & Company and set up by yours truly, Marc Evans along with LED dance floor lights. I lined up the bridal party and prepared for the grand entrance. The bride, Monica and I had created together an introduction based on the song she chose. Using "Sirius" by Alan Parsons Project we created a script as I introduced the bridal party and the happy couple. The first dance was Sunshine by Alexander O'neal. Then I played as requested a second song as I invited all guests to join to the song Adorn by Miguel. After the toasts, salad and the prayer, I introduced the mother of the bride to join her daughter on the dance floor as they danced to My Girl from the Temptations. The groom danced with his mom to Native New Yorker by Odyssey and Always Love My Mama. Then the bride danced with her brother to I'll Be Their by MJ. During dinner the bride asked that I play old school songs from NY such as Anita Baker, Tavares, Maxi Priest, Bee Gees, Boz Scaggs, Chi Lites and many other artists that people were able to listen, eat and talk to one another during dinner. After dinner the guests of bride and groom danced all night long. Pitbull, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and many more. Dance music is what kept the crowd dancing all night long They had suggested some 50 cent, Snoop and others but what really worked was the top 40 music and the line dances that gets everyone involved as I got on the floor to teach and join in with the guests. I ended the evening with Love on Top by Beyonce and then their wedding song once again as they danced together with their guests. Off on their honeymoon and for me the Virtual DJ Marc Evans, I will prepare for next weeks weddings, yes weddings both at Benvenutos.....looking forward to being their as they highly refer Eddie B & Company and DJ Marc Evans.
