On Friday July 5th, 2013 I played for Karen and Eddie D'Amore and 40 family members and friends at the Parkland Golf & Country Club. The evening started with an indoor ceremony (smart decision), and as the guests were arriving I played five requested songs for the prelude. Once everyone was in place Karen walked to "Marry Me" by Train, and for the recessional they chose a classic party song....."I Feel Good" by James Brown. During the cocktail hour I played a variety of Adult Contemporary songs from the 60's to the 90's. The guests were invited to the grand ballroom which was glowing in a Royal Blue color with wireless LED up lighting provided by Eddie B & Company. I introduced Karen and Eddie to "Lets Get It Started" by the B.E.P's. as they made their way to the dance floor for their first dance ......"I Do Cherish You" by 98 Degrees. Later I dedicated "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross in memory of Karen & Eddies fathers, which are no longer with us. Their brothers and sisters all joined them during this very touching moment. Eddie also danced with his mother Madeline to, "It Happens In A Heartbeat" by Teresa James. What really impressed me was how festive this group of 40 party goers were the entire night! One of the highlights took place when I played a few polkas for their aunt & uncle......wow......they took over the dance floor as everyone clapped and cheered them on. Later Karen and Eddie cut their cake to "That's Amore' by Dean Martin, and everyone sang along. The mix of music I was asked to play was the way it should be at a wedding reception......VARIETY! I played everything from Chubby Checker, The Beatles, Elvis, Paul Anka, Natalie & Nat King Cole, Barry White, The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Wild Cherry, KC & The Sunshine Band to Rihanna, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Train, Salt N Peppa, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, and Robin Thicke! Everyone danced and celebrated with Karen & Eddie. The final two songs requested were "Glad You Came" by the Wanted and "Save the Last Dance For Me" by Michael Buble. The evening was a complete success! I also want to thank Tara & Bill at the Parkland Country Club for their hospitality and wish Karen and Eddie all the best.....Good Times were had by all! DJ/MC Eddie B!
