Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this installment of the WEDDING BLOG!
On Saturday, April 14th, 2018 I had the privilege of being the DJ entertainment for Kyle and Meredith. they were married at the beautiful Pelican Grand Resort in Ft. Lauderdale..
I really enjoy working here. the location is perfect and the staff are always pleasant.
The ceremony was held on the Grand Terrace. It is 12 floors up overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The weather was absolutely perfect and not windy. As the guests gathered in their seats, i played NEO classical tunes by the Vitamin String Quartet. Then the bridal party entered to "Make You Feel My love" by Adele (Instrumental). After they made their way to the altar, I played "The One-Acoustical"
by Kodaline for Meredith to walk. the ceremony was performed by a family friend and she did a great job. Meredith and Kyle wrote vows to each other and really expressed their true feeling of love for one another. As the ceremony ended, i played "Be My forever" by Ed Sheeran and Christine Perri.
The cocktail hour was now in full swing, and everyone was enjoying the tropical steel drum sounds provided by Eddie B. & Company.
Once that was over, the guests were asked to go downstairs to the 11th floor ballroom. As they entered, they were taken away with the great ocean view and Royal Blue LED up lights, provided by Eddie B. & Company, of course!. I was playing some cool tunes to set a great mood of fun and festivities.
The bridal party stayed outside to get lined up. I soon started the introductions. First came the parents, grandparents, and kids. I played "Can't stop This Feeling" by Justin Timberlake. Then the bridal party made their entrance. I played "Bring Em out" by T.I.
now it is time for Meredith and Kyle to enter. I played "Welcome to the Good Life" by Kanye' West. The room erupted with applause! I then asked them to dance their first dance. "Say You Won't Let Go" by Pia Toscano. Then Meredith danced with her bcrother, as a tribute to the father daughter dance. "You Should Be Here" by Cole Swindell was used. A perfect song.
Now Kyle danced with his Mom. "Count On Me" by Bruno Mars was requested.
Soon after, I had Heather the Maid Of Honor and Jason the Best Man do their speeches. Then Cindy Evans, the Mother Of The Groom welcomed everyone and said how happy she was for Kyle and Meredith.
During dinner, I kept it light, playing some easy top 40 tunes and some light vocal.
After dinner, we did the cake cutting and bouquet toss. soon after that we really heated up the party and didn't look back!
I was able to play music from all genres and styles. but it was top 40 and 70's-80's that worked the best.
All in all it was a really great party and everyone had a lot of fun!
