On May 7th, 2011 I played for Kimberlee and John DiCostanzo and 60 family members and friends, at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort on Ft. Lauderdale beach. The evening started on the 11th floor South Tower over looking the ocean with a ceremony performed by Bishop Sean Alexander. The bridal party walked to "Air on the G String" by Bach, Kimberlee chose "Cannon in D" by Pachelbel, for the sand ceremony it was "Ave Maria" by Kenny G, and the recessional was "Over the Rainbow" by Israel K! Then all the guests were invited downstairs to the famous porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Eddie B & Company provided cocktail music with steel drummer Mr. Brian Henry, playing all of the island favorites. The party then moved to the Pavillion with introductions of the bridal party, while the instrumental version of "The Way I Are' by Timbaland played in the background. Then Kimberlee and John danced to ""When You Say Nothing At All" by Allison Kraus for their first dance. During dinner I kept it country & tropical.....Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley, UB 40, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, and Garth brooks to name a few. Kimberlee danced with her father to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland and John danced with his mother to "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. After the main course was finished John hinted to me earlier that one of Kimberlee's favorite songs is"Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off". So I played it and Kimberlee jumped right up on the dance floor and from there on it was good times had by all! The cake was cut to "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies and John took it right in the face! I also sent a special dedication to Kimberlee's parents married for 40 years, it was a song by Bobby Vinton, "Please Love Me Forever", they were totally surprised! The highlight of the evening was 20 foot desert table with at least 2 dozen choices of all types of tasty goodies. We ended the night with "Closing Time" by Semi-Sonic and I sent them off to Costa Rica for their honeymoon. A story of interest, when Kimberlee interviewed me a few months earlier, we found out that both of us attended a small college in western Pennsylvania. It was Slippery Rock State College, I laughed and so did she. I also want to thank Bridget the Catering director, Chaz the banquet manager, and the entire staff at the hotel for a well done first class presentation from start to finish....DJ/MC Eddie B!
