Melissa and Daniel Tidings tied the knot on a beautiful Saturday evening at the
Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 5/18/2013. The event began with a ceremony on the south tower overlooking the Atlantic Ocean (what a view)!! Approximately 80 close friends and family members witnessed Melissa and Daniel exchange vows under a gazebo then break the glass in keeping with Jewish tradition. All of the guests were then directed to the north tower for drinks, appetizers and a mix of tropical tunes as requested by the happy couple. After the cocktail hour everyone was invited to the reception which is located on the 1st floor inside of an air conditioned tent. As I lined up the 23 member bridal party, all of the guests were very excited to see the grand entrance. The bridal party entered to Party Rock by LMFAO and the bride and groom entered to Everything Tonight by Pitbull and Ne-Yo. Melissa and Daniel chose Wanted by Hunter Hayes as the first dance then Melissa danced with her dad to The Way You Look Tonight by Rod Stewart and Daniel danced with his mom to A Song For Mama by Boys II Men. The toasts were given by Lea (maid of honor), David (best man), Melissa's parents and Daniel's parents. Melissa's dad Michael gave the prayer before the meal then the first of 3 courses was served. Melissa and Daniel did not provide me with a song list but did ask me to take requests and to do what I do best. I played a mix of top 40, 80's dance and classic rock hits, disco, hip-hop and latin. The garter/bouquet toss and the cake cutting took place towards the end of the evening because everyone was enjoying the music so much they did not want to leave the dance floor. Some of the requests were for the group dances like Gangnam Style, The Cha Cha Slide, The Cupid Shuffle and the Wobble. They were very good at it!!! The last songs for the evening were special requests by the bride and groom. They wanted to hear Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds and Good Riddance by Green Day. Two excellent closing songs!! Congrats to Melissa, Daniel and the entire Tidings and Seidman families. Also great work once again to the staff and management at the Pelican Grand!!!
