Wedding and Reception at The Renaissance Hotel / Boca Raton
Saturday eve October 17th at the Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton Florida is where the celebration for Mike and Tami Connell was held in a beautiful setting with DJ Marc Evans and photo booth tech Jerry O. Cocktail hour was outside on the veranda by the pool area where the requested music was whatever I wanted, so I played a little bit of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Billy Joel, Natalie Cole, Anita Baker and a few extra cocktail related songs to put the guests in the mood to party.
Once cocktails ended the main doors were open and I played some funky Buddha music as the guests danced into the main room that was highlighted in Amber LED up lights and a Gobo Monogram of Mike and Tami's name in lights on a backdrop behind where they would be seated. Eddie B & Company also provided an Open Air Photo booth that guests were able to take photos all night long and place them in an album where they can write a note to Tami and Mike as they received the album at the end of the evening.
The bridal party was introduced to Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake and then Tami and Mike walked into the main room as I hyped it up to ESPN Jock Jamz, Lets Get Ready to Rumble!!!!!! Along with Tami and Mike the guests danced, screamed and shouted for the newlyweds as I edged them on… They then proceeded to the center of the dance floor for the first dance to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Half way through I invited all the guests to join in and then we went into some Greek dancing as the guests threw money at Tami and Mike as the were gathered in the center of the circle with there parents and bridal party.
Once we concluded the Greek dancing, dad did a welcome speech and an uncle did the prayer as the salad and dinner were served as the Open Air Photo Booth was open. I played some funk, hip hop and other songs that had everyone and I mean everyone jamming all over the room as the bride smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up.
Following dinner the toasts were made and the father daughter dance was done to Butterfly Kisses, followed by the mother son dance to My Wish. Then I did a song, Wind Beneath My Wings and dedicated not to Mike's Grandmother as all the guests joined in and then the Greek music continued and then we danced to The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble, Nae Nae and many others that rocked.
The garter, bouquet and cake cutting were done to Build me up Buttercup, Where Dem Girls at, Right Round and My Pony. Then the groom and his boys did a choreographed routine that he and I had worked on the music for two weeks. The crowd and Tami Loved it.
Then the party got back on track with dance music, Shout, Mony Mony, Old Time Rock and Roll and even The Love Shack. Hip Hop and Top 40 dance music were a big hit with all the guests and the newlyweds.
The last song of the evening was Journeys, Don't Stop Believing as everyone made it to the dance floor to join in the last dance with Tami and Mike. At the end Tami hugged, kissed and praised me for a job well done as she mentioned the Americans and the Greeks were musically fulfilled.
