On Saturday November 5th, 2011 I played for Zaida and James Karnegis and 104 friends and family members at the Riverside Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. The evening started out with a ceremony on the banks of the New River, and I might add this was a picture perfect day. The bridal party walked to "You Make It Real" by James Morrison and Zaida walked to the theme from "Somewhere In Time". After their exchange of vows and a kiss I played "Down" by Jay Sean as requested by Zaida. The cocktail reception was a mix of adult contemporary music, and then the real party started with an introduction of the bridal party to "Party Rock Anthem". This was a night to remember because the entire room was in a very festive mood and when James & Zaida made their grand entrance the noise level was "off the charts"! I could not believe the energy these guests had the entire evening. The first dance started with "Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye and 2 minutes into the song I mixed into "Micaela" by La Sonora Carruseles (a Salsa song), and the newylweds showed off their dance moves while everyone cheered them on. After 2 toasts and a delicious buffet I turned it up a notch and until I said goodnight, the dance floor never emptied. I played everything from Salsa, to Top 40 Club Music and retro 80's. Zaida danced with her father in law (James Karnegis Sr.), to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra, and Jim danced with his mother (Renee), to "Have I Told You Lately" by Van Morrison. The happy couple cut their wedding cake to "The Sweetest Thing" by U2 and for the final song, by special request it was "We Are Family"! A special note of interest here, I play for Jim's daughter's wedding, two years ago at Pier 66. I want to wish Jim and Zaida all the best life has to offer and thank you for your hospitality and making me feel like one of your guests. Two thumbs to Marc, Debbie, Fin, and the entire staff at the Riverside Hotel for a job well done.......DJ/MC Eddie B!
