Valerie and Bernard Cassidy celebrated their wedding on 7/30/2011 at the Riverside Hotel with their friends and family and boy did they celebrate!! The event started with an unforgettable ceremony where the bridal party entered to Waiting in Vain by Bob Marley (the instrumental version) and Valerie and her dad entered to At Last by Etta James. Valerie's choice to keep the ceremony non-traditional worked like a charm. The recessional song was Yeah by Usher. The bridal party along with the bride and groom were strutting their stuff as they walked back down the isle after the ceremony. That definitely broke the ice and everyone was still buzzing about it during the cocktail hour. As the guests entered the reception ball room I lined the bridal party up for the grand entrance. Valerie chose I Like The Way You Move by Outkast for the bridal party and Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder for her and Bernard. The first dance started with 99 Problems by Jay Z (Valerie chose the explicit version) which had all of the guests laughing hysterically, then it went into Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Lauren Hill. Valerie then danced with her dad to Landslide by Stevie Nicks and Bernard danced with his mom to A Lovely Rose of Clare(which was perfect being that they are from Irish descent). The bestman Tim and maid of honor Wanda gave two very heart-felt toasts before the salads were served. What an outstanding way to start the reception!! After dinner which was buffet style with 3 different food stations the dance floor opened for dancing. Everyone couldn't wait to get on the floor to dance and celebrate for Valerie and Bernard. Valerie provided me with a list of her favorites and let me add on as the night went on. It was a perfect blend of 70's, 80's and top 40 which everyone enjoyed. The winner of the anniversary dance was Bernard's aunt and uncle who were celebrating 52 years of marriage. The dancing continued to the end and the last song was Save the Last Dance for Me by Michael Buble. Valerie and Bernard made a short speech after the last song thanking everyone for their love and support. For the highlight of the evening I have to go back to the ceremony. Valerie and Bernard were so happy that they got to customize every aspect of their wedding when it came to the music. They had an idea of how they wanted their ceremony to be and I was happy to make that idea a reality. As for the staff at the Riverside Hotel...they are one of the most professional and organized crews I have ever worked with. Keep up the excellent work!
