Good Day bloggers!!!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the WEDDING BLOG....
On Saturday, November 3rd I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Chad and Megan on their wedding day! The reception was held at the Riverside Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. This is a great venue, with panoramic views of downtown Ft. Lauderdale and situated on the New River .
The ceremony was held on the patio. It was a beautiful day. The bridal party walked down to "a Thousand Years" by The Piano Guys. Then Megan walked down the aisle to "Pachabel Canon in D Minor". The ceremony was officiated by a close family friend. After the vows, I played "Marry You" by Bruno Mars.
I then asked everyone to the opposite side of the patio for cocktails and snacks. Once cocktail hour was over, I invited the guests into the main dining room.
As the guests entered I played some funky tunes to set a cool mood for a great party. The room looked wonderful as it was highlighted in AMBER LED UP LIGHTING provided by Eddie B & Company.
To introduce the parents, I played "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley. Then I introduced the bridal party, I was asked to play" Apache" by The Sugarhill Gang. Then Chad and Megan entered with "All of The Lights" by Kanye West and Rihanna. The room ignited with applause and everyone rose to their feet! I then asked Chad to take Megan's hand and escort her to the center of the dance floor.
Their first dance was " Purpose" by 311. It went over great! After a thunderous applause, I invited Megan to dance with her dad. They chose "My Hero" by The Foo Fighters. Then we cut into "Shake Senora".. Dad and Megan broke out into the FLOSS dance! It was hilarious!
After that, it was Chad's turn to dance with his mom. "My Wish" by Rascall Flatts made a great request for them. During this song, I invited ALL of the guests to dance along with Chad and his mom.
The dance floor was soon packed!
Afterwards, I invited the guests to take a quick break while Stewart, The Father of the Bride, Rohri, and Laura gave speeches and toasted the new couple.
Shortly after that, Uncle Anthony invited everyone to bow their heads in prayer and to bless the meal that was about to be served.
Dinner went well, I played some special requests for Chad and Megan.
As soon as dinner was over, I got the party started..
Everyone was ready to go! It was a really fun crowd and the dance floor was packed the entire evening.
I was able to play music from all genres and eras. The crowd especially liked top 40, classic rock, and Latin Music.
It was a pretty young crowd and everyone was having a great time.
I then invited our newlyweds to cut the cake... I played "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith.
Now, I got back into the party and we danced the rest of the evening!
It was a really great party and I with Chad and Megan a wonderful life together!
