Good Day Wedding bloggers! DJ Gregg is at it again, with the latest installment of the Wedding Blog. On Saturday, I had the privilege to be the DJ for Lauren and Mason on their wedding day!
The reception was held at the historic Riverside Hotel in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I really enjoy working at this location. The patio views are endless and the staff is wonderful! As the guests entered the main dining room, it was illuminated with Amber LED up-lighting, provided by Eddie B & Company. It really made the room very warm and inviting. I was playing some background music with a great beat. I enjoy to see the guests dancing their way into the room. That is usually a sign of a great evening to come. And boy, was I correct!
Once the guests were settled in, I lined up the bridal party. I proceeded to play "Suit and Tie" by J.T. for them to enter. Then I invited Mason and Lauren to come in. They asked me to play "Bring Em Out" by T.I. It was PERFECT! The room erupted with applause and they then proceeded to dance the first dance. "Die a Happy Man" was requested. Then I invited Lauren to dance with her dad. They asked me to play "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. Then Mason asked his mom to dance their special song. I played "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart.
Shortly after that I asked Jen, Alec, Christian, Ashley, and Samantha to say some special words on behalf of Mason and Lauren. It was a real tribute to a wonderful couple. At this point, I mentioned to everyone that the photo booth was opened. It was provided by Eddie B & Company.
Now the dinner service started. I was asked to play some light music and standards. Typical wedding fare. It really was nice to hear the guests sing along to Neil Diamond and Billy Joel!
After dinner, I started with a special request....."Can't Get Enough of your Love" by Barry White. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! The dance floor was full and we proceeded to keep it full for the rest of the evening. I was happy to say that this was a very diverse group. All ages welcome! so I played all different era's of music for everyone. And still, the dance floor stayed full!
In the middle of this fun, I stopped the music. At this point the HORA LOCA troop entered! They were amazing. The costumes were great and they danced the guests for 45 minutes. It was a HIGH ENERGY time!
Once they finished their set, I asked Lauren and Mason to cut the wedding cake. I played "I can't Help Myself" by the Temptations. Then Lauren threw the bouquet and Mason threw the garter. I played "Dancing Queen" and "Maneater" respectively. Shortly after that I invited the guests back to the dance floor and we continued to dance the rest of the night.
I have to say that this was a great party with a great group of guests. It truly makes a difference when everyone wants to dance and have a good time.
Congrats to Lauren and Mason!
