On Saturday 11.02.13, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Robyn and Jason.
The Ceremony, Cocktail Hour and Reception were held at the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Hotel.
The ceremony was on the beach! And it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky.
As the guests were arriving, I played traditional wedding prelude music. Classical and Violin music.
It was very elegant. As the bridal party came on the sand, I played "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. then Robyn walked on the sand to "Marry Me" by Train.
She looked great. Her face was all smiles! You could see the love that Jason had for her as she was walking toward him. It was truly magical. The ceremony was fairly traditional. I particularly liked the sand ceremony. This is where they pour separate vials of colored sand into a single vial at the same time. This signifies the joining of the bride and groom.
As cocktail hour began, I kept the beach theme alive. I was instructed to play some Jimmy Buffet and other Island music.
Now we enter the ballroom. As the guests trickle in, I was playing some upbeat instrumental music to keep the flow going.
I introduced the bride and groom to "Ready for this" by Jock Jams. They are both big sports fans . (college football to be specific). In fact, they brought a TV to the reception so everyone could watch the UM / FSU game. It is a big rivalry for them. The first dance was "Cowboys and Angels" by Dustin Lynch.
We had an interesting thing happen at this wedding. A guy dressed up in a chicken suit, shows up and makes everyone dance the chicken dance. It turns out that a bet was made with the groom that this guest would NEVER have enough BA**S to do it. Well think again!
After dinner,I did the Father Daughter dance " Somewhere Out There" by Linda Rondstadt
The Mother Son song was "Angels" by Randy Travis
We then danced a for a while. I then invited them to do the cake cutting and garter bouquet toss.
The cake was cut while "How sweet it is" by J.T. played.
The garter and bouquet was fun. They blindfolded the guy who caught the garter and made him put it on some hairy guys leg. YUCK!
After that we danced for the rest of the evening
It was a great time
