Wedding and Reception at the Signature Grand

Hello Blog readers!
DJ Gregg is back with another installment of the wedding blog.

This weeks adventure takes us to the Signature Grand in Davie. I always like working there. The staff is efficient and courteous.

I was blessed to be the DJ for the wedding ceremony and reception of Floyd and Berwyn (Liz). The date of the affair was on Saturday 11/30/2013.

As the guests made their way into the chapel, I was instructed to play some R&B slow tunes. Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, etc.

When the groom walked, I was asked to play "Songbird" by Kenny G. Then the rest of the bridal party walked in. It was a very unique entrance. Completely choreographed and timed to the music. I played "The One He Kept For Me" by Maurette-Brown Clark.

Then the bride entered to "I Found Love" by Bebe and Cece Wynans. A beautiful song for a beautiful bride!

The ceremony was charged with a lot of love and emotion. A special song was sung by one of the groomsmen. He sounded great!

As the ceremony came to a close, I was instructed to play "First, Last, Everything" by Barry White.

It went over great!

Now we enter the main reception room which was glowing in Royal Blue up lighting provided by Eddie B & Company. Again, I was instructed to play some light vocal and R&B hits.

When the bridal party was introduced, I played "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Then the bride and groom entered to "Halo" by Beyonce'.

I then asked the newlyweds to dance the first dance. "For You" by Kenny Lattermore was chosen.

After that, the bridal party and the rest of the guests danced to :Here and Now" by Luther Vandross.

Soon I invited the maid of honor and best man to do the toasts.

We then invited everyone to take their seats for the dinner buffet.

During this time, I was asked to keep it light, tropical and smooth. I played music from the islands as well as some classic R&B hits. It really set the tone for the evening.

After dinner, I invited the guests up with a slow jam and then I turned up the heat!

I was able to play music from all styles, cultures and generations. It was a lot of fun.

Now it is time to cut the cake. I played " You" by Jesse Powell. After the cutting of the cake, Liz took the mic and proceeded to explain that she had a special surprise for the groom.

They brought out his very own cake! In was in the likeness of a Nissan 300Z turbo. I was told that he has a fondness for this car and has owned several. At the moment, the only one he owns is the cake!.

After that I asked them to do the garter and bouquet toss. We used "Mission Impossible" and "Single Ladies" for this.

Now the dance floor was filled up again.

The rest of the night was great!

I played the "Electric Slide", "Wobble", "Cha Cha Slide" as well as a lot of Caribbean and Hip Hop.

It was a great party!
