Carleigh and Clay Thomas celebrated their wedding at the Historic Stranahan House in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 2/11/2017. This amazing wedding began with an outdoor ceremony where approximately 130 close friends and family members witnessed the happy couple tie the knot then they were all invited to the cocktail hour for drinks and appetizers. I played a mix of tropical/easy listening tunes while all of the guests mingled. It was a beautiful evening for an outdoor reception. I lined up the 10 member bridal party as all of the guests found their seats. The 4 couples in the bridal party had a specific intro song to enter to then Carleigh and Clay entered to You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne which was also their first dance. Carleigh's dad Mr. Carmichael gave the welcoming speech then everyone prepared for a 4 station style dinner. Carleigh also had a special request to dance with her dad to Days Like This by The Belfast Cowboys. During dinner all of the bridal party members gave their toasts to the happy couple then the dance floor opened up for the evening. Clay did provide me with a great play list that included top 40, country, alternative and classic oldies. Perfect mix of genres for this pumped-up group. There was a cake cutting ceremony and a bouquet toss (no garter) as the night progressed. As the evening came to an end I played The Best Is Yet To Come by Frank Sinatra as the closing song while all of the guests gathered on the dance floor with the newlyweds!! Congrats to Carleigh, Clay and the entire Thomas and Carmichael families. Special thanks to the folks at the Stranahan House for having a beautiful venue.
