Wedding and Reception at the "W" Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach
Samantha and Brad Freed celebrated their wedding at the W in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 2/17/2019. The ceremony was held outdoors on the veranda over-looking the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately 200 close friends and family members witnessed the 2 love birds tie the knot then they were all invited to the cocktail hour. I played a mix of topical tunes while all of the guests mingled and enjoyed drinks and appetizers. Myself and Chris decorated the ballroom with 24 amber, LED, wireless up-lights, dance floor lights and our "Open Air" photo booth all provided by Eddie B & Company. As the guests entered the ballroom I lined up the 18 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Samantha chose Timber by Kesha for the bridal party intros and Marry You by Bruno Mars for her and Brad's intro. The first dance was to Everything by Michael Buble then Samantha danced with her dad to Daughters by John Mayer and Brad danced with is mom to Because You Loved Me by C. Dion. The toasts were given by Kelsey (maid of honor), Brent (best man), Richi (groomsman) then Samantha's dad Mr. Heumann gave the welcoming speech (which was hilarious)!!
Everyone found their seats and prepared for a 3 course meal and the reception was under way. Samantha did provide me with a play list that included top 40, Hip-Hop and R&B, country, classic rock and Motown. This was one of the best wedding I have worked at the W!! This group of guests did not miss a beat as they packed the dance floor all night...and I mean ALL NIGHT!!! We did have a bouquet toss (no garter) and the cake cutting ceremony as the evening progressed. One of the highlights of the evening was when I played the Hora. There must have been 150 people on the dance floor at one time. This is one of the reasons we as DJs enjoy the career we have chosen!!
The closing song for the evening was Last Dance by Donna Summer and it still looked like there were 150 people still dancing...PRICELESS!!
