Good Day Wedding Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding Blog.
On Saturday, June 20th, 2015 I had the pleasure of playing music for the wedding and reception of Darrin and Jill.
They were married at the beautiful Villa Woodbine in Coconut Grove. This is a very unique venue as it was once a private residence. It was build around the turn of the 20th century and has an Old World feeling. I also found out that this home was the place where president John F. Kennedy signed the Bay Of Pigs invasion.. Pretty cool.
As the guests arrived, I was instructed to play some Reggae and light vocal.
The bridal party entered with "Think" by Curtis Mayfield. Then Jill walked down the winding staircase to the "Bridal March".The ceremony was pretty simple and quick.
After they exchanged vows, I was instructed to play some alternative Rock and R & B. It really set the tone.
Once the cocktail hour was over, I lined up the bridal party and introduced them.
The first dance was "Is this love" by Bob Marley. I then invited Darrin to say a few words and welcome everyone.
Dinner was served with light 80's and 70's Rock being played in the background (as requested by the Bride and Groom).
After dinner we got the party jumping! There were no parent dances or garter and bouquet toss, so we partied for the rest of the evening!
The dance floor stayed packed all night. I played a lot of Hip Hop, top 40, electronic dance and even some country!!!
It was a great time!
