Wedding at Coconut Cove Resort / Islamorada, Florida

Played at a great wedding on March 11, 2011 for Chris and Kara Amoratis at Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada in the Keys.
What an unbelievable wedding!! The ceremony was beach-side right on the property. The bridal party walked in to Guava Jelly by Bob Marley and the bride walked in to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Everything was different than usual at this event. The music, the guests, the atmosphere and especially the first dance. After cocktail hour I presented the bridal party and the bride and groom to High Tide or Low Tide by Bob Marley. The maid of honor and best man toasted to the bride and groom and then dinner was ready. For cocktail hour and dinner Chris and Kara requested a mix of tropical, calypso and beach music which everyone enjoyed. After dinner everyone gathered beach-side for the first dance. Chris surprised Kara by having a firework show during the first dance. All of the guests and Kara were completely surprised. It really was a magical moment for the bride and groom that was provided by Paul at Coconut Cove Resort. After the bride and groom cut the cake, the dance floor opened up for some late night dancing. Chris and Kara picked a fusion of music like oldies, funk, reggae and top 40. The wedding ended up going 1 hour overtime because of the fun the guests were having. The night ended with a request from the best man Don. He wanted me to play Between the Sheets by The Isley Brothers. Well it was a hit because everyone that was left at the party danced.
Congrats to Chris and Kara for pulling off an unforgettable wedding!!! Special thanks to Paul and his wonderful crew at Coconut Cove Resort. They really know how to make the bride smile and that is the reason why we are in this great business.
