On Friday, February 18th, 2011 I played for Paige and Dean Williams at the World Famous Coconut Cove Resort, Islamorada Florida Keys. The afternoon started with a wedding on the beach and it was a little different than your normal ceremony. Dean was born in Hawaii and Paige in Key West, so to include some of the traditions Dean started the ceremony with the blowing of the Conch Shell! The bridal party and parents walked to the "Hawaiian Wedding" song by Sally Fletcher, then Paige walked to "Here Comes the Bride" by Wagner. The ceremony had different readings written by Paige & Dean and explained some of the Hawaiian traditions. Then they celebrated with a kiss as "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole played in the background! Cocktail reception was a mix of Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffet and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. During dinner I played a variety of Hawaiian music and a mix of tropical. Their first dance was "Turn Your Lights Down Low" by Lauryn Hill & Bob Marley. They cut their wedding cake to "When I'm 64" by The Beatles. Paige danced with her brother to "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay" by Otis Redding, and Dean danced with his mother to "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The rest of the evening was a mix of top 40 hits and classic party songs. We ended the evening with "The Load Out/Stay" by Jackson Browne. Wow what a party this was! Congrats and all the best to Paige & Dean.... DJ/MC Eddie B!
