On Tuesday, (Yes I said Tuesday), March 8th, 2011. I Played for Martin and Christina Zarate from Ohio. This was a destination wedding with 20 family members and close friends attending. The ceremony, as always was held on the beach. I played some classic love songs by Billie Holiday as requested by Christina, for prelude music. Then she walked to "Por Una Cabeza" by Carlos Gardel. After the vows it was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Isreal K. Cocktail hour was all jazz and their first dance was "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Lauryn Hill. They cut their cake to "Love & Marriage" by old blue eyes Frank Sinatra. This was more of a laid back, spend time with the family type wedding so I didn't push the dance floor hard. The guests and Christina and Martin danced maybe 45 minutes out of the 5 hours I played, but they were happy! The final song of the evening was "lets Get It On" by Marvin Gaye! Congrats to the newlyweds, you can tell they were having a good time coming all the way from Ohio and the freezing weather. 2 thums up to the staff at the Coconut Cove Resort, they do a First Class job, and the food was Hmmmm...Good!
