On March 5th, 2011 I played at my first wedding reception at the "Coconut Cove Resort" in Islamorada. Ryan & Leslie Whitney rolled out the red carpet for this wedding...or should I say...rolled out the beach sand. This resort was all for them, eight hours that is. As Bob Lyons a steel drum player provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, Paul Bates the owner did the vows. Then it was my time to take over for dinner and introductions keeping it going with tropical music. After a tropical buffet, four toasts where given. To every bodys surprise, a special first dance on the beach was next. All the guest and the newlyweds had a big four minute display of fireworks from the ocean side of the resort as the first dance song played "Marry Me" by Train......WOW...after a silent moment at the end I said..."Coconut Cove Weddings, the finest on the planet"....and it was a big hit. Leslie decided to dance with her father next to "A Song For My Daughter" by Ray Allaire. Then it was party time....and did this crowd come to party.I played a mix of top 40,dance,pop,classic rock,latin....and yes...Booty music (lol).I had a great time rocking this resort and wish the newlyweds all the best.....Thanxs Roberto (D.J.Rob)
