On 3/12/2011 I played for a wedding at the Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada. The happy couple was Joshua & Theresa Lopez. Coming from the cold of Michigan to sunny Florida was a paradise wedding for them and their guests. As the guest walked on to the beach for the ceremony steel drums was playing by Cedrick "Sir Cedrick" Luces originally from Trinidad & Tobago and his pan playing showed.....awsome. He also took care of the cocktail hour. When I invited the guests to be seated I introduced Joshua & Theresa to "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang. The hot buffet opened up and it was time for the toast by the best man Sean Davidson, as everyone was seated ready to eat and laugh. A mix of island/spanish guitar and love songs filled the air. At the end of dinner it was time for the couples first dance, it was to "Me & You" by Kenny Chesney followed by the Mother/Son dance to "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. It was time to party until the cutting of the cake..a mix of salsa & merengue/top40 dance/ Boogie down 80's/90's with country. After 5 hours....it wasn't over...they all wanted one more hour and dance they did. Two thumbs up to Paul and Magda for making this day special for Joshua & Theresa....Thanks...Roberto (D.J. Rob)
