This one started off a bit shaky but ended up to be an unforgettable wedding. Thomas and Kristen Chiavaras's event took place at the Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach on 3/18/2011. The stage was set for a beautiful ceremony, everyone in place but no officiant. Twenty minutes went by and still no officiant. Everyone put their heads together and ask the guests if anyone was a notary. It just so happens that Kristen's uncle from Massachusets was a notary. He did his duty with no problems and married Thomas and Kristen. After the ceremony Thomas, Kristen and the bridal party headed to the beach for pictures. The guests enjoyed cocktail hour for drinks and appetizers. I spoke to a few guests during cocktail hour and it seemed to me that they were determined to make this wedding a memorable one. After the cocktail hour everyone proceeded into the reception room ready to party. The bridal party's intro song was "Love Train" by The O'Jays. Thomas and Kristen danced to Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis. Kristen then danced with her dad to "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle and Thomas danced with his mom to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. The best man Michael then made a short but sweet toast to the new bride and groom. Everyone was invited to dinner and enjoyed a mix of oldies and soft classic rock which was requested by Kristen. After dinner the floor opened up for some heavy dancing. Kristen told me after the wedding that she had no idea that her family could get down like that on the dance floor. We did the YMCA, the Chicken Dance and the Twist. Kristen requested that we do not do the garter/bouquet toss so after the cake we did the Anniversary dance. That is when I invite all of the married couples to the dance floor and start eliminating them by how many years married. Of course Thomas and Kristen were the first eliminated. Then we went from 1 year, 10 years, 20 years and so on. Everyone got a kick out of that. The last song for the evening was "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. Thomas and Kristen danced on the floor as their guests made a big circle around them. It was really a great night!!
